How do I get rid of a junk car without DMV paperwork?

I am in California and not sure of the laws here. I purchased a car in 92, paid it off a few years later and now it’s been sitting around in my garage for the past 4 years because I can no longer drive due to illness. I would like to junk it or at least get it out of my garage. NONE of the paperwork is up to date, and it was recently broken into, so what I did have is now lost. I did keep in my home the sales info from the dealer so I do have proof its mine. I really can’t spend the $$ from the DMV to get everything up to date just so I can junk it….. Should I dig a really big hole in my backyard or is there a way to get this thing out of my hair?

Scrap prices are up high right now if you want to sell it to a crusher. The catalytic converter will bring between $50 and $275 depending on size, aluminum wheels bring about $15 each, and by weight here cars bring $4 per hundred pounds which would bring about $100-150 depending on size of your car. You can also take pics of it and sell it locally or on ebay and most likely get decent money out of it no matter what its condition. Lots of people out there would buy junk before they would take a good car at the same price.
You can sell your old car or junk you car for free. Either way, they’ll come and get it for free, DMV paperwork or not.
